Chinese Language Club
I have been a member of the of the Chinese Language Club since my first year in 2021-2022 and have held the executive board positions of secretary for the 2023-2024 school year and treasurer for Fall semester of 2024. The Chinese Language Club is a diverse group dedicated to exploring and promoting the Chinese language and culture. Our activities encompass language learning, cultural exchanges, and celebrating traditional holidays. The club was open to students at all levels of Chinese proficiency, from beginners to native speakers. In the Chinese Language Club, we delve into the essence of the Chinese language and culture through courses, lectures, research, and social activities. These activities included learning Chinese characters, tasting Chinese foods, watching Chinese movies, collaborations with other groups and hosting traditional Chinese celebrations.

Conversation pairs
This program pairs one international student with one domestic student. I have done this for two semesters, one in Fall 2022 and one in Fall 2024. Over the course of the semester, we meet weekly, building a lasting friendship, learning about each other's culture, and exploring events around Clemson. Each International student is paired with a domestic student. Larger seasonal events are hosted throughout the semester and create opportunities to get to know and learn from other students who are also participating in the program. my first semester I was paired with one girl in a PhD program from China and my second semester I was paired with a Chinese native PhD student but we also took in an Iranian native PhD student and another Chinese student here at Clemson to comprise a group. In our weekly meetings we have conversations or planned excursions like social events or dinners with each other in effort to help improve upon their English language skills and my Chinese skills as well as our knowledge of our respective native cultures.

Walk For Water
Clemson Walk for Water is a non-profit organization that I have been involved in since my sophomore year in 2022-2023 and became president in 2024. We seek to raise awareness in our community about the Global Water Crisis and raise funds to provide people in developing countries with safe water under Water Mission. Water Mission is the nonprofit clean water charity & Christian Engineering Ministry that we have partnered with, and all funds that are raised from The Walk for Water go directly to them. Water Mission is responsible for building safe water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions in developing countries and disaster areas. The Walk for Water is a simulation of the journey that millions of women and children must make every day to collect water that is not clean or safe to drink. At this event, participants walk 1.75 miles (1/2 the average distance women and children walk) while carrying a bucket. At the halfway point in the walk, participants will gather water from the reflection pond and continue walking until they have walked the entire distance of the walk. After completing the walk, participants will empty their buckets into a water filtration system, which then returns clean water to the reflection pond when hosted on Clemson's campus. We participate in other nearby locations when possible as well such as Greenville, SC.
